Oklahoma OT Continuing Education and License Renewal

Oklahoma OTs can earn all 20 hours required for renewal through online courses offered @pdresources.org

Oklahoma Occupational Therapists (OTs) have an annual license renewal on October 31st. Continuing education (CE) hours are due biennially, on every even year.

Oklahoma OT CE Requirements

CE Required: 20 hours every 2 years

Online CE Allowed: No limit if AOTA approved

License Expiration: 10/31, annually (CE due even years)

National Accreditation Accepted: AOTA

Telehealth: An occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant that is providing therapy services via telehealth as a mode of service delivery will be required to have two (2) continuing education units in the area of telehealth practice each reporting period.

Continuing education is due October 31st every even year. You must obtain twenty (20) hours of approved continuing education every two (2) years (i.e., from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2026, etc.). No hours may be carried over from the previous reporting period.

Continuing education for renewal of licensure has been established to require therapists’ involvement in activities which keep their skills and knowledge of current practice up to date. A point is the equivalent of 1 contact hour.

Continuing education requirements are designed to update knowledge and skills. Synthesis takes place when the therapist has the opportunity to apply this knowledge and these skills to their practice. Therefore, therapists will be asked to provide information about their practice of occupational therapy at the time of renewal.

All CE hours must now be reported to CE Broker.
