Wisconsin Marriage and Family Therapists Continuing Education and License Renewal

Wisconsin-licensed marriage and family therapists have a biennial license renewal with a deadline of February 28th, odd years. Thirty (30) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license. All thirty hours are allowed from home study. Four (4) hours of ethics and boundaries is required at each renewal, and can be found online at PDResources.org. The board accepts APA approval of continuing education hours.

The reason for continuing education is to ensure the highest standards for the marriage and family therapist profession. All licensees are required as a condition of license renewal to participate in continuing educational activities that build upon existing competencies and knowledge gained from prior educational experiences.

Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB Provider #1046, ACE Program); by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC Provider #5590); by the American Psychological Association (APA); and by the National Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC, Provider #000279).
