Vermont-licensed social workers have a biennial license renewal with a January 31st deadline, even years. Twenty (20) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license. Of the twenty hours, five (5) hours are allowed from home study if ASWB approved. Fifteen hours must be formal (live), and 1.5 hours in ethics for social work practice are required at each renewal.
