Texas Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) renew their license(s) on a biennial basis (last day of birth month, every 2 years). PDR offers Texas LPCs 20% off online CE courses to help licensees meet state renewal requirements.
Texas LPC Continuing Education (CE) Requirements:
Texas LPCs are required to obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education (CE) each renewal period (every 2 years).
Required Subject Areas:
- 6 hours ethics each renewal
- 3 hours cultural diversity and competency each renewal
- 6 hours supervision each renewal (if LPC supervisor)
- LPCs must pass the jurisprudence examination each renewal period. Licensees may claim 1 hour of ethics credit for passing the examination.
Online CE Allowed: No limit (effective 2/28/2019)
License Expiration: Last day of birth month, every 2 years
National Accreditation Accepted: NBCC, APA, ASWB
