Rhode Island Social Workers Continuing Education
Rhode Island-licensed social workers have a biennial license renewal with a May 1st deadline, odd years. Renewal applications are due by April 15th. Thirty hours of continuing education are required every two years. Six hours are allowed from home study, and twenty-four (24) hours must be live contact hours.

Three hours of social work ethics and three hours of cross cultural practice to include alleviation of oppression are also required. National accreditation is ASWB.

This organization (Professional Development Resources, Inc. ACE Approval Number 1046) is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. Professional Development Resources maintains responsibility for all programs. ASWB Approval Period: 6/12/2000 – 6/12/2016. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.
