Continuing Education and License Renewal Information for Kentucky Occupational Therapists

Licensed Kentucky occupational therapists have a yearly license renewal with an October 31st deadline. To renew a license, twelve (12) hours of continuing education is required. (12 CCUs per year where 1 CCU = 1 hour) All 12 hours of continuing education is allowed for home study if AOTA approved. The board recognizes the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as a provider of Kentucky occupational therapists continuing education.

The main goal of continuing education is to maintain the highest standards for the occupational therapy profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing educational exercises that build upon existing learning and knowledge gained from prior educational experiences.
