Georgia Psychologist Continuing Education and License Renewal

Georgia-licensed Psychologists have a biennial license renewal with a deadline of December 31st, even years. Forty (40) board approved continuing education hours are required to renew a license. Of the forty hours, ten (10) hours are allowed from home study. In addition, three hours of professional ethics and psychopharmacology are required at each renewal, with three hours of cultural diversity required for the first renewal only. The board accepts APA approval of continuing education.

The top objective for continuing education is to assure the highest possible standards for the psychology profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing educational activities that will build upon existing competence and skill gained from previous educational experiences.

Professional Development Resources is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Professional Development Resources maintains responsibility for all programs and content.

Continuing Education Requirements
