Fifteen (15) hours of continuing education are required for a license renewal. There are no limits on home study, and marriage and family therapists must have the post-test and certificate to renew. National accreditations include NBCC, APA, and ASWB.

The main reason for continuing education is to assure the highest possible standards for the marriage and family therapist profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing education as a condition of licensing.

Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB Provider #1046, ACE Program); by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC Provider #5590); by the American Psychological Association (APA); and by the National Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC, Provider #000279).
