Alabama Speech Language Pathologists License Renewal and CE

Alabama-licensed Speech Language Pathologists/Audiologists (SLPs) have an annual license renewal deadline on December 31st. To renew a license, twelve (12) board approved continuing education hours are required. Twelve (12) hours of continuing education are allowed from home study. Of the twelve hours, ten (10) hours must be in the area of licensure. The board recognizes the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as a provider of Alabama SLP/A continuing education.

The primary purpose of continuing education is to assure the highest possible standards for the speech language pathology and audiology professions. All licensees are required to participate in continuing educational activities that will build upon existing competence and knowledge gained from prior formal educational experiences.

Professional Development Resources is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. CEUs are awarded by the ASHA CE Registry upon receipt of the CEU Participant Form from the ASHA Approved CE Provider. Continuing Education Requirements

Alabama SLPs and Audiologists are required as a condition of license renewal to complete a minimum of twelve (12) hours of continuing educational activities per annual renewal period.
