South Carolina Social Workers License Renewal and Continuing Education Information

South Carolina-licensed social workers have a biennial license renewal with a deadline of December 31st, even years. Forty (40) board approved hours of continuing education are required to renew a license. All forty hours are allowed from home study if ASWB approved. The board accepts ASWB approval of continuing education credits.

The main purpose of continuing education is to ensure the highest standards for the social work profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing educational activities that will build upon existing competence and knowledge gained from previous educational experiences.

Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education for social workers by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB Provider #1046, ACE Program).
