Mental health counselors licensed in the state of North Carolina have a license renewal every two-years from initial licensing.

Forty hours of continuing education are required, and there are no home study limits if NBCC approved.

North Carolina Mental Health Counselors Required CE Information:

  • Three hours of ethics are required at each renewal
  • The required Jurisprudence Exam counts for five (5) contact hours in ethics
  • Supervisors – an additional ten hours is required in counseling supervision
