Twenty (20) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license. All twenty hours are allowed from home study. Three hours of ethics are required at each renewal, and continuing education units are accepted by the board if the title and content relate to the marriage and family therapy profession. The main reason for continuing education is to assure the highest possible standards for the marriage and family therapy profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing education as a licensing condition.

Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB Provider #1046, ACE Program); by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC Provider #5590); by the American Psychological Association (APA); and by the National Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC, Provider #000279).
