North Carolina-licensed dietitians have an annual license renewal with a March 31st deadline. Thirty (30) hours of continuing education are required to renew a license every two years. All of the thirty hours can be earned through home study. The board accepts CDR approval of continuing education hours, and registered dietitians must show a current CDR card.

The purpose of continuing education is to ensure the best possible standards for dietitians. All licensees are required to participate in continuing education as a condition of license renewal.
