Delaware Social Workers Continuing Education and License Renewal Information

Delaware-licensed social workers have a biennial license renewal with a January 31st deadline, odd years. Forty-five (45) hours of continuing education are required in order to renew a license, and all 45 hours can be earned from home study. Three hours of ethics is required at each renewal. The board accepts ASWB approval of continuing education hours.

The main goal of continuing education is to assure the highest possible standards for the social worker profession. All licensees are required to participate in continuing educational activities that will add to existing knowledge and skills obtained from prior educational experiences.

Professional Development Resources is approved as a provider of continuing education for social workers by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB Provider #1046, ACE Program).
