Vermont-licensed mental health counselors have a biennial license renewal with a January 31st deadline, odd years. Forty (40) continuing education hours are required in order to renew a license. Of the forty hours, twenty (20) hours of continuing education are allowed from home study. Four hours of ethics is required at each renewal, and can be found online at PDResources.org. The board accepts NBCC approval of continuing education hours.
The top goal of continuing education is to ensure the highest possible level of achievement for the mental health counselor profession. All licensees are required to attain continuing educational activities and add to their existing competencies and skills from previous educational experiences.
Professional Development Resources is approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer home study continuing education for NCCs (Provider #5590). We adhere to NBCC guidelines.
